昨年はいろいろ大変だったので、今年は良い年になりますように。

今年の映画初めは、『マイティ・ウクレレ』。

お正月なので、気楽な感じの映画にしました。
ウクレレの歴史と、世界でのウクレレの拡がりを取材したウクレレ同様チャーミングなドキュメンタリー。
終わりの方は、教育現場でのウクレレの有効性について取材していた。
カナダではウクレレが音楽教育の現場で、主役の位置を占めているらしい。
映画の中で教育評論家（？）の女性が言ってた通り、ピアノやバイオリンと違ってウクレレを熱心に教育させようとする親はいないよね。
それだけでも子供の音楽教育では良いことだと思う。
私は母がピアノの教師だったため最悪の音楽教育環境でした。
暗くなるので詳しい話は避けますが・・（苦笑）。
案の定、タイニー・ティムの話しもでてきて、彼がウクレレを選んだのはオーディションに落ちたり、舞台で受けなくても楽器を紙袋に入れて直ぐに退出できるからだと。
そのあとテレビ出演の映像が出て、実際に終わったら直ぐにウクレレを紙袋に入れて引っ込んでいた。
タイニー・ティムの人気が出た時、ウクレレは変人が演奏する楽器として有名になりウクレレの売上が落ちたというエピソードも（笑）。
映画を観ていて気付いたのは、ウクレレを演奏している人の顔が、上手下手に関わらず笑顔だったり心から楽しそうだったこと。
観た後は、必ずウクレレが弾きたくなりますよ！
帰って早速ウクレレ・アイク『アイム・ア・ベター・イン・ア・レディーズ・ボードウ』を聴きながら夕飯の支度。
同アルバムはロバート・クラム・アートワーク・コレクションの一枚。
大好きな『夢で逢えたなら』にうっとり。
ああ、『マイティ・ウクレレ』にちょっとだけ日本のグレートなバンド「スィートホリワイアンズ」が映ります。
